Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County is searching for an Administrative Specialist for the Family Services department. This program supporter will be the first point of contact with clients as they visit our location and will provide assistance accordingly, as well as provide reception duties, telephone coverage, clerical and additional support as assigned.

Essential Duties include:

  • Maintain lobby, kiosk and play areas
  • Schedule and distribute client appointments to staff prior to the scheduled dates
  • Greet and assist clients with uploading documents at the kiosk and review eligibility paperwork for completeness.
  • Backup support to Family Services Administrative Assistant to create and mail appointment notices
  • Data entry of transfers
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff
  • Check and return voicemails in a timely manner
  • Check ELC drop box and distribute information accordingly.
  • Transmit information via mail, fax and email to parents, providers, and partner agencies as needed
  • Maintains and distributes general faxes and Career Source referrals to staff
  • Basic clerical duties including, but not limited to faxing, memos and organizing paperwork, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements include:

  • High School diploma or GED plus (3) years or more of direct related experience. Associates Degree or two (2) years of college in field related to specific job functions preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred

  • Ability to develop and maintain databases

Salary: $26,798 - $37,798

Hours: Normal Coalition Hours are Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm. 40 Hours per week

Some travel may be required.

Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County is searching for a Quality Literacy Specialist. The specialist will lead the Coalition’s early literacy initiatives to promote reading readiness and successful kindergarten entry.

Essential Duties include:

  • Provide technical assistance and coaching to providers participating in early literacy initiatives to include, but not limited to: Nemours and Officer Friendly’s Book Club
  • Perform literacy based screeners with children to collect data for programming (GRTR)
  • Perform observations in classrooms to assess areas of need
  • Provide resources for professionals
  • Recruit and support providers for early literacy initiatives
  • Provide training to professionals
  • Other duties as assigned

 Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in child development, early childhood or related field required
  • 5 years of experience in early education setting and experience training adult learners
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred

To be the best fit, a candidate will need the following skills/experience:

  • Knowledge of high quality early childhood developmentally appropriate practices for children 0-5 years of age
  • Experience in coaching early childhood education providers
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other community agencies to maximize efforts and avoid duplicative services
  • Experience in designing and implementing training for adult learners
  • Knowledge surrounding emerging and literacy based skills
  • Interact as part of a team by exhibiting dependability, cooperation, initiative, and punctuality
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and skill levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to move quickly from one task to another as needs dictate, and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines

Salary: $36,000 - $50,000

Hours: Normal Coalition Hours are Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm. 40 Hours per week
