The first years of a child’s life are critical for lifelong development. A young child’s earliest experiences–at home, at school and in the community–set the stage for lifelong success. School Readiness funds pay a portion of the child care costs for low to moderate income earning families and allows parents to focus on professional and educational goals and begin to break the poverty cycle. The children in School Readiness programs are assisted through developmentally appropriate early learning programs, screenings and assessments to assist them in getting ready for school. The Coalition and all of its community partners work to ensure children in Pinellas County have access to the support and resources needed to be ready to enter school and succeed.
