About Us
Welcome to the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County
The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County, Inc. is one of 31 Coalitions around the state of Florida. The Florida Legislature created Coalitions in 1999 to provide local oversight and local control of the early education services for children birth to 5 years of age with after school support for children through 12 years of age.
Members of our Board of Directors include representatives from public and private schools, institutes of higher learning, the Department of Health, Department of Children and Families, and 18 private businesses.
Our mission is twofold. We want children to acquire those emergent skills to prepare them for success upon entrance to kindergarten. Also, we support families by providing quality care while parents are employed and away from their children.
I hope you find our website helpful as we try to keep all constituents informed on the latest initiatives in the early childhood field.
